DWAYNE FERGUSON
Cinematographer | Director of Photography
I create cinematic visual stories for brands, institutions, artists, and culture-driven projects.
My Approach
I'm a filmmaker, director, and cinematographer based in St. Louis. My work lives at the intersection of branded content, documentary, and music. These are the kind of projects where a story has to land with a specific audience and feel honest while doing it.
Every project starts with a question: what does this need to say, and to whom? From there I build the visual language, shaping how light, framing, and movement carry the story, and I stay involved through editing and color so the final piece holds together. I move between directing and cinematography depending on what a project needs, which means I can lead a small crew, run camera, or hand off cleanly to collaborators I trust.
Over the past four years, I've directed and shot for institutions like the St. Louis Public Library, built documentary and performance work around artists and creative communities, and produced branded content for organizations who need their story told with care. I'm at my best when a project has stakes, when there's a real audience and a real point, and I'm trusted to translate the idea into something people actually feel.
